Capitalism has lifted billions out of poverty, it has been the engine of mankind’s advancement in countless ways. And it could and therefore should do so again. However, in its current form, it is dangerous and out of control, not just unsustainable.
Tens of millions of people are locked in slavery in industries such as construction and agriculture. People in low paid work are locked in poverty, likely in greater numbers, and increasingly within the world’s richest economies. While those at the top enjoy mind bending wealth. Extreme inequality is destroying the fabric of society, and arguably democracy too.
